2001: A Space Odyssey

April 30–June 27

As brilliantly engineered as the space program itself, Stanley Kubrick’s mysterious and profound epic—“the ultimate trip”—is about nothing less than the beauty and the banality of civilization, blending cool satire, an elaborate vision of the future, and passages of avant-garde cinematic inventiveness. In conjunction with the special exhibition Envisioning 2001: Stanley Kubrick’s Space Odyssey, the Museum will be presenting weekly Sunday matinees of the 4K digital restoration and a 70mm screening every other Friday evening beginning April 30. Combination tickets are also available for a screening and visit to the exhibition. And don't miss the Complete Kubrick retrospective, covering the entire filmmaker's career, screening through September 26.
